The Director of Business Development (BD) within the Enterprise Technology and Cyber Security (ETCS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reports directly Vice President.

This position leads ETCS’s federal government business development activity from big picture thinking to day-to-day process management.

The Director drives the creation of a culture that highly values performance, innovation, quality, efficiency, open communication, collaboration, learning, and operational integration.The Director is responsible for driving the achievement of ETCS’s annual BD targets and managing day to day BD operations.

He/she is responsible for managing the successful execution of the day to day business development activities from prospecting and identifying new business to capture and contributing to the submission of high-quality proposals.

The Director will also be involved in teaming decisions, pricing strategy, win strategies, proposal development, and closing these opportunities.

Other responsibilities include marketing Xator’s core strengths to clients and partners and developing new partnerships when necessary.The position also requires strategic thinking and ability to leverage new partnerships and connections to break into new markets.

The Director will lead and drive this process and actively work towards networking and building new partnerships, relationships, identifying new opportunities and identifying key people as potential consultants and hires.This position is located in Fairfax VA.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)Lead growth and new business development within the federal Government.Responsible for identifying and qualifying new business development opportunities.

These efforts will include; opportunity identification, qualification, strategy creation and end-to-end pursuit ownership for active business development opportunities.Responsible for maintaining the pipeline for new business and capture/recapture efforts of existing contracts, ensuring accuracy of the data for all opportunities assigned under this position.Work within Xator’s bid processes and templates for each step of the BD process, actively communicate, develop quality control at each stepManage the opportunity process with probability of win calculations, revenue projections, and direct input to the company budget and forecasting process.Coordinate, manage, and communicate the capture processIdentify and follow up with partners for current and new bidsPerform initial analysis of proposed or actual request of capabilities, and RFPs to determine technical, schedule, and content reasonableness, and profitability.Represent the Company to potential clients and partners and lead discussions on specific bidsLead efforts to build partnerships and subcontractor relationships and negotiate partnership arrangements Support corporate leadership in staying aware of and preparing new business development opportunities, including: Upcoming business development targets; Market outreach events; Contract Industry Day events and other strategic outreach events.JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS EducationBachelor’s degree Experience10-15+ years of progressive relevant experience in business development A proven track record of successful business development across United States Federal Government at a variety of acquisition sizes and offices.Must have extensive relationships within the Federal Government.Understanding of Cyber Security principals and technologies is a huge plus.Experience in relationship management, market development, and with key partners.Successful track record of capturing prime new business with Federal Government agencies Outstanding written and oral communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsWell-organized, attentive to detail, skilled in setting priorities and meeting deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyWorks well independently and in teams; proactive in anticipating work requirements and problem solvingDemonstrated working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).Equal Opportunity StatementXator Corporation, and its Subsidiaries, provides equal opportunity to all applicants for employment as required by and/or consistent with applicable country law and company policy.
