Regional Director of Elementary Sales

That’s why we’re searching for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Regional Director of Elementary Sales to help us open doors, build relationships and continue to expand our reach.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the executive team to develop sales strategies and promote business development, while also working directly with high-level customers to cultivate relationships, build trust and confidence, and establish a community presence.

A background in elementary education will help you go a long way in this role, as will a willingness to take risks and try new things.

The successful candidate should have a strategic, outcome-oriented mindset, a dynamic personality, and exceptional communication and presentation skills.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Richmond, Alexandria, or Washington, D.C.

metropolitan areas, with convenient access to a major airport.

A day at Lakeshore looks like this:

  • Supporting Regional Managers with Elementary-related sales calls
  • Partnering with the Business Development Team to form and implement sales strategies that target large Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) projects
  • Communicating relevant information from the field to the office in support of inside sales, marketing messaging, product development, sales narratives and trainings, etc.
  • Maintaining an ongoing awareness of local, state and national trends and funding opportunities in early learning and elementary education
  • Securing new and repeat business by building strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Fostering new relationships within agreed-upon targets, such as architecture and design firms, owner’s reps and construction companies
  • Regularly visiting school district administrative buildings and school sites to assess emerging and ongoing needs
  • Pursuing high-level relationships that support cutting-edge learning environments for children, such as with city, county and state government officials, university administrators and community-based organization leaders
  • Hosting product presentations and events designed to familiarize customers with Lakeshore’s proprietary services
  • Working with your Regional Vice President(s) to develop and modify sales strategies
  • Partnering with Sales, Retail and our Professional Services Group to support the needs of local educators
  • Participating in local, state and national conferences to promote the Lakeshore brand

Got the skills and experience?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 3–5 years of experience in education, publishing and/or education furniture strongly preferred
  • Understanding of state education standards and core curriculum a plus
  • Elementary education credential with a background as a teacher mentor, language coach or curriculum supervisor
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Successful B2B outside sales experience and proven entrepreneurial know-how
  • Solid presentation skills and the ability to speak to customer needs at all levels (teachers, administrators, directors and other officials)
  • Strong work ethic and team-player mentality
  • Dynamic personality with tons of energy and the ability to form close partnerships
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Salesforce
  • Ability to travel extensively with overnight stays
