Position Summary Responsible for managing and maintaining an efficient front desk and oversees the day-to-day operations of the registration department.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities Manage the registration department.

Monitor productivity, assign tasks as appropriate, and act as a resource for team members and/or providers in clinic.

Display and promote a positive public relations approach to team members, patients, providers and the public.

Communicates with physicians, clinical team members and other staff when needed to achieve a positive and successful patient first impression and continuous flow in registration.

Handles difficult patient situations and encounters with registration.

Oversees balancing of daily deposit for registration.

Oversees dropping the deposit to bank.

Oversees completion of registration work queue tasks.

Work to maintain team member compliance of all registration procedures.

Respond immediately to urgent needs within the department.

Responsible for hiring and training of Registration Coordinator and Patient Counselor candidates.

Responsible for coordinating new hire orientation and training processes.

Manage team member schedules.

Be proactive by drafting the schedules several months in advance.

Maintaining appropriate levels of staffing for registration.

Coordinate staffing in the event a team member will be absent or late for work.

Provide routine annual performance evaluations.

Organize and lead department meetings.

Serves as a subject matter expert for the department.

Maintain flexible work schedule to meet patient care and administrative needs.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of standards applicable to registration (Billing, Insurance, HIPAA, etc.).

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients, team members, direct reports, providers and management group.

Ability to demonstrate effective leadership qualities that will bring the best out of employees in the department.

Ability to work well with high volume and/or under pressure.

Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations.

Ability to grasp new tasks in a timely manner.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Proficient computer and typing skills.

Proficient problem identification and resolution skills.

Proficient interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Position Requirements Bachelors degree in business or a related field is preferred.

3-5 years of experience in Registration, Call Center, Customer Service or a related field required.

Experience in medical office setting preferred.

2+ years of management experience preferred.
