SUMMARY: Program Manager responsible for leading integration efforts for design finalization, shipyard selection, construction management, operational testing, and transition to operations, for a large newbuild government-owned vessel. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide professional program/project management and technical support services to assist achievement of federal vessel design and construction contract objectives and acquisition strategies. These services shall include, but not be limited to, managing subcontractors, providing logistics, special project, and conference support. Management and administrative services provided shall include, but not be limited to, the following: coordination of acquisition office operations including management of records, schedules and correspondence; development of procurement documentation; requirements analysis; deliverables management and tracking; metrics tracking, analysis and development of reports; and assistance in the development of milestones and objectives for current programs.


EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, business or related discipline. Masters degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of project management experience; Government technical management, or Industry business management, with 5+ years in federal program management.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Project Management Professional (PMP) for 5+ years. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management.

OTHER: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred.
