Description

Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Analysis Center is an internal think tank that conducts research and analysis to explore ideas about emerging national security concepts, priorities, and trends and help explain the value of Northrop Grumman systems.

The Director of Research and Analysis would be part of the diverse and collaborative Analysis Center team, with the following primary responsibilities:

• Managing development of a research agenda, including identifying strategic areas and questions requiring further analysis.

• Directing and participating in research and analysis related to: capabilities assessments, cost comparisons, budget forecasts, and future defense trends.

• Developing compelling advocacy products that illustrate the value and cost-effectiveness of NGC programs.

• Developing relationships and engaging with academic, analytic, and policy communities.

• Providing quick turn analytic support to senior NGC executives on issues relating to national security policies and priorities.

• Writing papers on key subjects suitable for external publication.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and over 5 years of experience in defense policy, program analysis, or capabilities assessments.

• Demonstrated understanding of the US national security policy environment, including technology trends and modernization programs.

• Strong demonstrated quantitative analysis capabilities and writing and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD degree and over 7 years of experience in defense policy, program analysis, or capabilities assessments.

• Familiarity with Northrop Grumman products and capabilities

• Existing ties to DC academic, analytic, and customer communities.

• Prior experience in public outreach and/or thought leadership in the national security community.
