Spanish Lead Teacher
Our Spanish Immersion Language School is seeking an experienced Spanish Teacher

Requirements:

BA in Elementary Education and/or Early childhood Education.

Fluent in Spanish and advanced conversational English.

Preferable native Spanish.

At least two years of prior classroom experience preschool and or elementary.

Online teaching experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Superior classroom management skills.

Ability to solve problems and practice behavior guidance.

Ability to produce weekly lesson plans.

Ability to provide active supervision at all times.

Must be Very creative.

Must be a self-disciplined and dependable team player.

Ability to follow school policies and procedures.

Preferably living in the Northern Virginia area (or close to it).

Driver License and legal to work in the USA.

Job Requirements:

  • Instruct preschool-age students in the Spanish language
  • Establishing effective rapport with students
  • Serving students across the state
  • Ensuring that students achieve mastery of learning objectives
  • Evaluate students’ growth in light of individual progress and inform students, parents, other teachers and administrators of students’ progress
  • Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
  • Design and implement lesson plans, and manage the students
  • Provide students with teacher modeling, guided practice and scaffolding, and support that allows students move toward demonstrating skills and competencies
  • Dismiss all students from the classroom before leaving the building
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods and interventions in order to ensure that all students achieve mastery of both skills and content knowledge across the curriculum
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with students, staff, and families to support the academic and cultural development of Acero students
  • Residing in public school district
  • Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans following the curriculum units
  • Ensuring that the translation is accurate in each language
  • Use various co-teaching models to deliver high-quality instruction to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment
  • Develop positive relationships with students
  • Engage students with hands-on exploration and reinforce core morning classes by addressing varying student learning styles
  • Develop and execute a rigorous standards-based curriculum
  • Maintain the health and safety of all students
