DescriptionMK34/MK160 GWS Instructor (CSCS-21-1176-F):Bowhead is seeking a MK34/MK160 GWS Instructor whom Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for fleet sailors in support of AEGIS Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, VA.

Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support laboratory training.

Candidate would serve as a trainer to train Mk160 Gun Computer System operators.

When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development and delivery of other CSCS courses supporting the operational employment of the Mk160 Gun Computer System.Job Duties to include but are not limited to:
• Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessments that require advanced knowledge of U.S.

Navy Mk160 Gun Computer System Capabilities and Limitations.
• Reviews and analyzes U.S.

Navy Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S.

Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine as it applies to the Mk160 Gun Computer System in the dynamic operational tactical environment.
• Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135.
• Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.
• Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.
• Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.
• Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers moderately complex training programs and related materials in support of CSCS training objectives.
• Must be capable of conducting knowledge based classroom instruction and performance/scenario based laboratory training.
• Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
• Maintains records of training activities; participant progress; and program effectiveness.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
• Other duties as assignedRequirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline is desired but not required.

An equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work/military experience totaling at least 5 years of experience and training may be considered an acceptable substitution for the highly qualified candidate.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Mk160 Gun Computer System operator/supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.

Of the five (5) years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and counseling students on academic learning problems is required.
• Experience as a Master/Afloat Training Specialist is a significant plus.

Majority of this job will be conducting scenarios in a lab.

Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.

Shift work may be required.

Travel may be required up to 5% of time.
• Experience as trainer/instructor in support of CSCS/ATRC/TACTRAGRU is a significant plus.

Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.

Shift work may be included..
• Previous experience as trainer/instructor in support of CSC/BMDO/AAWC and a Master Training Specialist NEC is a significant plus.
• Must be able to support training while standing for extended periods of time.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite
– Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

To receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
