Systems Engineer Chantilly, Virginia

Vaxcom is seeking a Senior System and Application monitoring analyst.

Individual reports to Operations Manager and assist in daily assignments and deliverables of team.

Team is responsible for remote management of systems perform monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and restoring services.

Individual will utilize knowledge and experience to monitor systems and applications, tune monitoring tools, deploy new technologies as well as design, install, configuring, maintain and perform system integration testing and troubleshooting of server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.

Individual will monitor system activities and fine tune system parameters and configurations to optimize performance and ensure security of systems.

They perform capacity analysis, monitor and control usage of disk space.
 

Responsibilities:

Manage monitoring systems to include HP OMi, HP SA, HP NNM, MS SCOM
Produce metric reports and capacity planning reports as needed to support the Windows environments
Perform regular system tuning and performance monitoring
Evaluate and recommend new technology upgrades
Ensure all Windows based servers are adhering to change control and standard policies
Manage and maintain MS Exchange 2007 / 2010 and 2016 environments including support for email routing, email tracking and SMTP relays
Manage and maintain MS Server environments 2008 and 2012 including enterprise directory services, DNS, IIS, MS Communicator and Lync/ SKYPE.

Qualifications:
More than 10 years of experience in IT industry with experience in Windows Server administration; Window 2008 & 2012 with Active Directory Services (AD, DNS, DHCP), MS Clustering, RDP and MS Terminal Server 2008/2012 and Lync.
Hands on Experience in System Monitoring utilizing HP tool suite and or MS SCOM
Hands on Experience in managing / supporting VMWARE servers (hosts and guests)
Experience in Operations Center with a background in monitoring, management system tuning and troubleshooting
Microsoft Office: 5 years
Microsoft Windows Server: 5 years
SDLC: 5 Years (Desired)
