Senior Engineering Specialist – Facility IT Administrator

This position requires a hardworking, competitive type with an engineering mindset that is driven to succeed with a natural sense of urgency.

The candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting and documenting all aspects of the Facilities IT environment.

Facility IT operations is primarily conducted during business hours; however, the candidate must be available after hours (evenings/weekends) to participate in the on-call rotation or preform maintenance activities.

Strong professional presentation and communication skills are a required as this position interacts daily with the customer and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with the customer, vendors, and other technical teams to coordinate the installation of Facility IT related equipment, e.g., A/V, security cameras, Cisco codecs, Crestron control systems etc; Coordinates maintenance windows, building access, equipment delivery and logistics for the installation.
  • Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Facilities IT infrastructure and equipment, i.e., cabling, racking, configuring and inventory.
  • Leads onsite and remote troubleshooting sessions with Facility IT vendor support; Escorts vendors during onsite visits.
  • Conducts monthly computer equipment room (CER) inspections to ensure the CERs being properly maintained and to ensure compliance with server installation and network cabling standards; Resolves or tracks issues found during the inspection; Creates a monthly status report for management.
  • Creates and maintain documentation for A/V configuration, mappings, processes, and service records.
  • Conducts administration, discovery, and cleanup of A/V assets via the Crestron Fusion monitoring software.
  • Administers cloud-based video conferencing and collaboration technologies Zoom, WebEx and Lucid Spark.
  • Supports, troubleshoots, and monitors customer issues with cloud-based video conferencing technologies.
  • Provides A/V support for day-to-day meetings, webinars, and agency wide events ensuing all A/V equipment and collaboration services are pre-checked and will perform without issue.
  • Troubleshoots issues with NSF’s A/V equipment including conference rooms, team rooms, executive offices, and digital signage.
  • Escalates tier III A/V issues to NSF’s A/V maintenance vendor and coordinates logistics for prompt resolution.
  • Provided tier I/II support troubleshooting IP connectivity issues with devices such as security panels, card readers and Crestron Fusion servers.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • 4+ years of applicable experience
  • Experience with WebEx, Zoom, Crestron, Crestron Fusion, iPads, and Cisco codecs
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies: Network and Linux/Window Operating Systems
  • Available for afterhours/weekend on call rotation and maintenance activities.

    Position requires working nights and/or weekends to lead troubleshooting efforts or any other special circumstances that requires escalated support

  • Exceptional customer service and follow up skills
