Check us out on Facebook!Primary responsibility is coordination of the Sepsis Program to ensure Early Goal Directed Therapy requirements are met and to coordinate all systems related to acute stroke care delivery.

The position requires intimate knowledge of both department and hospital policies.

Interpretative skills, frequent interactive and collaborative relationships are inherent in the position.

This role will act as the clinical liaison for these programs between physicians, unit directors, clinical coordinators, clinical staff, ancillary staff, and administrative staff.

The ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion is essential.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:Delivers on-going education to employees and providers related to disease specific processes.

Completes daily, weekly and monthly abstractions related to sepsis patients.

Respond to all sepsis alerts to assist as needed and to ensure that treatment started within the defined timelines.

Assist in providing disease specific education to patients and perform daily survey of patients and families to evaluate the education they received.Assures continuous quality improvement through data collection, analysis, and process improvement using internal QI.

Collaborates with clinical educators develop standardized patient teaching materials.Coordinates the Sepsis program to ensure early goal directed therapy and aggressive management of patients.

Responsible to track, report, and submit hospital Sepsis data to Quality Department and national benchmarking agency(s).

Performs concurrent review and consultation with healthcare team and patients during hospitalization.

Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: Diploma or Associates Degreefrom a professional nursing program (required)BSN or current enrollment in aBSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred) LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia orcurrent multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VAis required.American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)Health Care Provider (required) Bea part of an organization that invests in you.
