General Requirements The IT Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of Martek’s IT infrastructure and providing troubleshooting duties to all internal employees. They ensure stability of Martek’s technology infrastructure and provide the necessary support for the corporate office and satellite offices. Responsibilities & Duties The IT Specialist is responsible for the smooth running of Martek’s technology infrastructure. They implement, manage and troubleshoot existing technology environments which includes cloud systems, desktops and other related equipment. They ensure full information security and monitoring of the corporate network; CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity, Authentication) standards. They support users by a variety of methods and provide technical expertise to users by verbal or written means. The specific duties of the IT Specialist will include, but not be limited to, the following: Cloud Infrastructure Support: Manage and Administer Office 365 Environment – Hosted Exchange, Microsoft Office Suite SharePoint Administration on 365. SharePoint Administrator training or Certification a huge plus. Premises Infrastructure Support: Manage a Windows Network environmentWindows 2012 Server, Windows 10 Desktops/ Laptops); installation, troubleshooting & maintenance Monitoring Network for usage, anticipate and identify problems suggest solutions Implementing the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems Manage documentation relating to Martek’ technical infrastructure Manage and maintain IT inventory and its documentation Manage Backup policies and backups of systems/ data Management & Reporting: Architecting network solutions closely and work with senior management Report to the CIO’s office with regards with periodic updates Performing other tasks as requested by the CIO’s office Identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems Documenting, tracking and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Consistently manage and resolve all support requests in a timely and successful manner Remaining current on emerging technologies Other duties as assigned. Educational Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree is a plus. Experience Requirements Three (3) Years minimum experience working in an IT Customer Service role. Experience with Microsoft-based multi-tiered client/server architectures, and security design& analysis with small to mid-sized businesses. Experience working with Microsoft Cloud infrastructure, such as 365, SharePoint, Azure. Expert-level skills with Windows Systems. Intermediate to expert understanding of firewall configurations and maintenance.
