Compensation Analyst

This is a Full-time position in Mclean, VA posted February 3, 2023.

We are looking for an energetic, results oriented individual to be part of the Total Rewards team. This role will focus on compensation, data analytics and reporting.  It requires a detailed oriented, highly organized, and analytic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-centric environment and is ready to make a meaningful impact on the people within our organization.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The Compensation Analyst will work as part of the Total Rewards team on special compensation initiatives, our merit increase and incentive processes, and internal and external human capital reporting requests.  Working alongside the HR Director, you will collaborate with the Chief People Officer, Senior Vice President of Total Rewards, HR Business Partners, the Recruiting Team, Payroll Specialists and others throughout the organization to attract and retain top talent.  Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate all components of merit increase processes throughout the year including modeling, communications, data preparation, data collection, executive summaries and billing rate calculation exercises.

  • Analyze data and compile metrics to support decision making related to promotion and increase budgets, campus hire compensation and bonuses, and other rewards programs.

  • Gather and examine job documentation, organizational, and occupational information in order to benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges across various geographies.

  • Design and prepare internal human capital reports to address talent needs, project incentive rewards, marketing proposal requests and corporate communications projects.

  • Compile and submit data for federal and state compliance requirements such as California Pay Data, EEO-1 and Vets-4212.

  • Assist with a variety of special projects that support compensation initiatives across all Clark business units, regions  and market sectors.


  • 2 – 4 years of compensation theory and practice experience (including job analysis, survey participation and wage analysis)

  • Working knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline

  • Relevant compensation training and/or certifications preferred

  • Workday HCM experience preferred


  • Ability to maintain and secure confidential information

  • Exceptional attention to detail and insistence on accuracy

  • Ability to process large amounts of data and identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Proficiency with compensation research and data analysis

  • High mathematical aptitude

  • Self-starter, results oriented team player

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multitask and prioritize workload

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and high proficiency with Excel
