Job Summary

As an integral part of the Business Licensing Team, the Business Licensing Coordinator will contribute to the research, preparation, and filing efforts necessary to obtain all required business-related licenses and permits in support of MYEYEDR offices nationwide. Licenses and permits include but are not limited to alarm permit and registrations, business licenses, business tax licenses, certificates of occupancy, fire safety, occupational licenses, privilege licenses, sales and use tax permits, sales tax certificates, and sign or right of way permits.

As part of this role, they will have extensive coordination with internal tax accounting and facilities teams, MYEYEDR offices, and regulating government agencies throughout the application process and must always represent MYEYEDR in a professional manner. This position will report directly to the Business Licensing Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete required research and due diligence for all new locations by reviewing municipal code and confirming filing requirements and processes with local officials

• Prepare and file all new and renewal applications required to obtain appropriate business licenses, business tax licenses, certificates of occupancy, fire safety, occupational licenses, privilege licenses, sales and use tax permits, sales tax certificates, and sign or right of way permits

• Perform continuous tracking and follow-up with municipal departments and government agencies on the status of applications while maintaining accurate and consistent documentation on the status of all licenses and permits.

• Coordinate required inspections between regulating agencies and MYEYEDR offices

• Responsible for timely updating license and permit statuses in LicenseHQ; uploading of received licenses and permits into LicenseHQ database

• Regular assistance with projects that contribute to MYEYEDR’s overall state of municipal compliance

• Ensure all MYEYEDR offices have posted all required licenses and permits

• Scanning and databasing of all received documentation on Business Licensing Team’s shared drive

• Promote positive relations and communications within MYEYEDR organization

• Demonstrate a “can-do” attitude while being flexible and able to handle multiple tasks in a given day or week

• Ad hoc duties as assigned by the Business Licensing Manager

Work Experience

• 2+ years in a professional working environment preferred

• Licensing experience preferred

• Experience working with local government officials preferred

Education

• AA or BA/BS required

• Paralegal Certificate is preferred
