In this position the hired candidate will provide technical leadership to a 50+ employee, geographically dispersed systems engineering team responsible for full-spectrum systems engineering support for as-is and to-be space communications architecture.

Day-to-day duties will include:

*Serving as the senior Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for the government division chief and their staff

*Monitoring and advising fellow SETAs performing systems engineering functions to include: Risk, Issue and Opportunity Management; Configuration Management; Architecture, Digital Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering; Verification, Validation and Transition; systems integration and readiness; simulation, schedules, requirements management and user engagement.

*Participating as a space communications architecture SME in Systems Functional Reviews, Independent Program Assessments and Independent Readiness Reviews.

*Providing input to and participating in processes relating to the hiring and professional development of SETA personnel in the program.

*Driving technical change and modernization into systems engineering processes.


Requires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D.

*TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph

*Broad experience in Radio Frequency (RF) engineering

*Broad systems engineering experience to include some combination of experience with: Requirements, Transition, Verification, Validation and Test, Risk, Simulation, User Engagement, Configuration Management and Schedules.

*Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership to an engineering team

*Demonstrated ability to engage with and advise senior government and Federally Funded Research and Development Contractor (FFRDC) personnel

Desired qualifications:

*BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or another, relevant technical discipline

*Previous experience as a Chief Systems Engineer
