Software Engineer III – Space Systems

In this role you will contiribute to the design and build of a transformational new ground architecture for a DoD space-based system-of-systems. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and operations personnel to develop a DevSecOps pipeline for rapid software fielding to operational systems. You will work as part of a large agile team to implement user needs into mission critical functionality. This is an opportunity for you to develop and field a system with immediate impact to space operations.

Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
• Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
• Experience with GIT source control and CI pipeline systems
• Familiarity with one or more of the following: React, Angular, Python, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, Material UI, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, SIMP Project, Ansible, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Newo4J, PostgreSqL, AWS Cloud and Nifi
• Ability and willingness to learn new software engineering concepts, methods, and processes
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
• This position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred:

• Python expertise
• Experience with developing software as microservices or containers
• Prior experience with ground command, control, and communications architectures
