About the Team Business Development Managers within our Education & Government Professional Services organization are the key conduit between the dynamic Professional Services organization and the burgeoning Field Sales organization.

They are integral to the continued growth and contributions of our Education & Government business unit.

About the Role Workday is the leader in enterprise-class, software-as-a-service (SaaS) Human Capital Management and Financial Management solutions for managing global businesses.

As a Workday Business Development Manager/ Pre-Sales Project Manager for our Professional Services organization, you will be responsible for planning, management, and execution of all Professional Services business development activities in your area.

You will be a key team member of the Workday Pre-sales Services team, working alongside the Workday Account Executives, driving Workday Subscription sales across Workday’s market segments.

You will use your experience with consulting sales and project delivery to help prospects put together a plan for a successful project, including resources, timeline, and costs.

You’ll employ effective selling strategies to successfully position Workday’s SaaS Solutions and Platform technologies as the cost effective, modern alternative, and you will be an expert in Workday’s innovative deployment methodology.

You will work closely with Workday Service Partners to help them plan successful projects and grow their business.

What you’ll do: Understand the competitive landscape and prospect needs so you can effectively position the value of Workday’s innovative deployment methodology and Professional Services.

Work with Account Executive and Customer Success Managers to determine Services Strategy for customer base accounts.

Present Workday Customer Services overview and conduct services discovery sessions.

Create and validate Professional Services Proposals and high-level Project Plans.

Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with Workday Service Partners.

Assess project team training needs for prospects and customers.

Maintain accurate and timely prospect, pipeline, and service forecast data.

Manage, negotiate, and close Professional Services Agreements, Statements of Work and other contractual documentation Provide support for services activities and events.

Respond to complex RFP’s/RFI’s/RFQ’s issued by government entities and higher education institutions.

About You: 5 years of experience managing ERP implementation projects – for example, Financial systems, Analytics, Budgeting/Planning, Recruiting, Human Resources, Benefits, Time Tracking, Payroll, Performance Management, Compensation, or comparable, as well as delivering large-scale systems implementation projects, with Higher Education and/or State & Local Government clients strongly preferred.

Experience in Professional Services sales, preferably in ERP-Financials, Student Information Systems, and/or HCM/Payroll solutions Proven ability in managing complex services sales cycles from start to finish with a track record of successful service revenue and profitability attainment preferred.

Understands and can effectively explain the benefits of cloud architecture.

Strong knowledge of vendors, products, and services in the HCM, Payroll, Financials, and/or Student enterprise application space.

Great presentation skills while participating in a fast-paced, complex product and services sales cycle.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Ability to travel 50% or more of the time
