The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit.

We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.

Our teamfocuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.

Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Overview:The Associate Hardware Systems Engineer will support a proprietary program in the Northern Virginia area.

This program is dynamic and exciting, providing the opportunity to work within and learn a broad range of engineering disciplines.

This unique role helps across multiple IT subgroups to provide hardware support.

We are seeking thosewho are passionate and have a hands-on approach to tackling projects.

As the Associate Hardware System Engineer, you will work in a dynamicteam environment and collaborate with several types of engineering disciplines to execute tasks on-quality and on-time.

This position is a day shift position with on-call and occasional shift work, which includes off hours and weekends.

Position Responsibilities:Property Management.Processing/tracking/storage of incoming hardware.Disposal of hardware.Property tracking and identification.Hardware deployment.Supporting users to replace defective hardware.Supporting recap of outdated hardware.Inventory management.Basic Linux and Windows troubleshooting (login issues, password resets, account re-activations).Basic system administrator knowledge for Linux and/or Windows.Hardware configuration, BIOS patching, and Firmware upgrades.Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Work Authorization:This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S.

Security Clearance.

This position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):1 year or more of experience in hardware administration.Willingness to work a rotating on call shift to include weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.Experience troubleshooting hardware root causeExperience across a breadth of disciplines including hardware, software, systems and test.Experiencewith the IT hardware and its products.

Typical Education/Experience:Bachelor’s and2 or more years’ experience, Master’s degree or PhD degree.

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
