Actuarial Analyst III or Associate Actuary (Medicare Advantage) Preferred Location: Indianapolis, IN; Mason, OH; Atlanta, GA; Pewaukee, WI; St.

Louis, MO; Louisville, KY; Richmond, VA; Virginia Beach, VA Open to any Anthem office for the most qualified applicant Please Note: This position may be filled at either the Actuarial Analyst III or Associate Actuary level.

Manager will determine level based upon the selected applicant’s skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

The primary responsibility for this role is to support the modeling of provider risk deals arrangements and their impact to the Medicare Advantage bids.

It requires basic understanding of provider capitation and gainshare contracting.

The associate is expected to develop strong relationship with the areas supporting provider negotiation and support actuarial analyses for new value-based agreements.

Most of the analysis is done in excel and SQL.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills and ability to communicate well with non-actuarial business partners.

The Actuarial Analyst III or Associate Actuary completes diverse, to the most diverse and complicated projects and performs complex to highly complex actuarial studies.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit consulting, and special projects.

Designs and completes special projects such as developing and maintaining experience-rating formulae and creating and/or reviewing alternative settlement formulate and risk sharing models.

Responsible for recommendations on pricing, marketing, product design, claims, premium and enrollment administration of business unit.

Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.

Qualifications Actuarial Analyst III Qualifications: Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Associate Actuary Qualifications: Requires a BS/BA degree; ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA); at least 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
