Full Time Evenings 11a-11p, 36 hours per week,rotating weekends and holidays

What Will You BeDoing? 


The EmergencyDepartment RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with establishedpolicies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.


The tasks andresponsibilities include:

• Assesses, plans and evaluates patient careneeds.
• Prioritizes patient care based on acuity leveland available resources.
• Carries out physician orders.
• Assists physician during examination,treatment and procedures.
• Administers prescribed medications, changesdressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.
• Serves as the primary coordinator of alldisciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Monitors, records and communicates patientcondition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Instructs and educates patients and families.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s dischargeplanning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personalprotective equipment as required.
• Customer service abilities including effectivelistening skills.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree preferred
  • RN Diploma or Associates of Nursing Degree required
  • Tuition Reimbursement Program (up to $5,250/calendar year)
  • Student Loan Assistance (up to $1,800/calendar Year)
  • Two years of experience as an RN with demonstrated competency in emergency department preferred
  • VA RN license or valid RN Compact State License
  • BLS
  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • HCA will pay for certification renewals once employed
