Lead Massage Therapist

Overview:The Lead Massage Therapist is responsible for providing massage and body treatments and educating and training all new and existing massage therapists.

The Lead Massage Therapist develops spa treatment protocols and ensures the protocol handbook is up to date and accurate.

The Lead Massage Therapist orders and maintains professional supplies, takes inventory, communicates with vendors, and works with the Spa Director to create new treatments and seasonal specials.

The Lead Massage Therapist assists Management with recruiting new Massage team members, the Massage Team Schedules and shift transfers.

The Lead Massage Therapist maintains impeccable cleanliness and hygiene and ensures compliance in all areas with the sanitization and safety standards set by the Virginia Board of Nursing.

The Lead Massage Therapist is an integral team member in the operation of the Keswick Hall Spa.Responsibilities:Provide all massages and body treatments as outlined in the Keswick Hall Spa protocol manual.Train all new massage therapists, coordinate signoffs, and research/organize refresher trainings for massage team.Develop, implement and reinforce spa treatment protocols, ensuring the protocol handbook is up to date and accurate.Oversee consistency of services by providing continual training, monitoring product usage, and ensuring all massage therapists start and end treatments on time.Assist the Spa Director in ensuring adequate coverage on all shifts.Lead and motivate massage team.

Assist in establishing and maintaining standards of excellence in professional image and services.Work with the Spa Director to update spa menu and create new spa treatments as needed.

Develop an annual plan for seasonal specials and meet deadlines for launching specials.Assist Spa Director with overall operations of spa to ensure guest and employee areas are well organized and meet Keswick Hall standards of cleanliness.Qualifications:Required:Certificate of completion from a state or nationally certified school of Massage indicating a minimum of 500 hours of training in a state approved massage program.Current and active Virginia State Massage license.2-4 years of experience as a Massage Therapist.Minimum of one year’s experience training other massage therapists to perform facials and writing treatment protocols.Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Understanding of the theory, contraindications and benefits of massage and body treatments.Desirable:1-2 years of experience in a training or lead role preferred.Proficiency in 5+ modalities.Experience working with vendors, requesting samples and sourcing new products
