HCA Nurse ResidencyProgram (Behavioral Health Unit)


StaRN Program (10 weeks total):


Our StaRN Program willprovide you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospitalenvironment. It will help you transition out of the classroom setting and ontothe unit by providing the following training:

  • 5 weeks classroom, self-study, skills & simulations
  • 5 weeks preceptorship
  • Certifications: TeamStepps, CPI 

After StaRN, you willtransition into our Professional Development Residency:

  • 9 month program factored into a full time position on the unit
  • You will learn Charge Nurse skills
  • You will collaborate with a mentor to complete an evidence based Capstone Project (4 hours a month)
  • Your project has an opportunity to gain recognition by corporate for further recognition

AdditionalInformation about our Behavioral Health Unit:

  • 32-bed general mental health unit
  • 8-bed military behavioral health unit that treats military service members and their families who are in crisis and suffer from PTSD, anxiety, adjustment issues, or other mental health conditions
  • Our department offers inpatient services, partial hospitalization and a substance abuse intensive outpatient program
  • Our team is seeking new grad nurses who are passionate about behavioral health!

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 6 months- BSN preferred
  • Applicants may apply and be offered position prior to passing NCLEX exam
  • Previous nursing support or service industry experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
