Staff Accounting Consultant

Kforce has a client in Arlington, VA that is seeking a Staff Accounting Consultant. Responsibilities:

  • Staff Accounting Consultant will assist with the weekly Cash Receipts Reconciliation (the process includes analyzing merchant
  • Transactions of membership dues and fees)
  • Reconcile and analyze various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Staff Accounting Consultant will obtain a thorough understanding of the general ledger and financial reporting structure
  • Facilitate the processing of member refunds
  • Prepare assigned schedules for monthly and year-end closes
  • Provide financial guidance and support for YA’s staff, vendors, and customers
  • Staff Accounting Consultant will manage the disbursement process for all external and internal vendors through the cloud disbursement system,
  • Allocation of monthly expenses
  • Contract Management (1099 / W9 Analysis)
  • Track, maintain and cross-check credit card transactions against monthly statements
  • Verify that employee expenses are accurate, reasonable, and within YA’s guidelines
  • Staff Accounting Consultant will adhere to the organization’s accounting policies and procedures

Job Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, or two years of experience in an accounting department
  • environment
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and finance rules and statements, particularly as they relate to
  • 501(c)(6)s and 501(c)(3)s
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion
  • Ability to quickly identify issues and formulate approaches to problem resolution
  • Knowledge of Intacct,, and Tallie cloud accounting software a plus
  • Proficient with Excel, Power Point, and other MS Office products
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform detailed-oriented and accurate work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
